Founders
Lou Krieg, President and Founder
Lou grew up in Vermont, and after doing his stint with Fortune 500 companies found his way back. He is directly involved in collaborating with clients in architecting and developing mobile solutions that uniquely meet their needs. With more than 20 years of senior management experience, he works on some of the company’s most innovative projects.
Lou has a demonstrated proficiency in mobile computing and networking technologies, including systems design and architecture, user interface design, communications, database design, embedded systems, and network management.
Lou’s high-level technical management experience includes Director level positions with Motorola Information Systems Group, Unisys Networks and Bio-Tek Instruments. He is an accomplished speaker and author on key technology issues. Lou received a BS in Computer Science from the University of Vermont.
Ann Pettyjohn, Vice President and Founder
Ann is responsible for business development and operations — in essence, “everything but programming.”
When it comes to working with Green Mountain Software, Ann is there to make sure your project runs smoothly — from developing plans and schedules, initiating routine status calls and progress reports with the development team — to setting up a proper test plan. And of course, she takes care of the necessary paperwork.
Ann is a native Oregonian, and found Vermont to be her “home” from the moment she set foot inside its borders. Like Lou her early career was centered around gaining experience with Fortune 500 companies — holding senior management positions in marketing and communications at Motorola, Prime Computer and Boise Cascade.
Ann has a firm belief that Vermont and technology are a good mix. As a founding board member of the Vermont Software Developer’s Association, she is an evangelist for the software industry in Vermont.
Ann graduated maxima cum laude from the University of Portland with a BA in Communications.
The founders “out standing in the field” …
Lou Krieg, President (center right), Ann Pettyjohn, Vice President (center left) and Lewis & Clark (the Llamas) are far left and right.
We started Green Mountain Software in 1993 when the Apple Newton MessagePad was introduced. It was a time when AOL was more important than the internet and online groups such as “LlamaTalk” played a big role in establishing a close development community. As our tribute to the original Newton development team, we posed with Lewis and Clark.
